<previous The last work is a series of frescoes for the Palazzo del Podesta in Florence (now in the Bargello Museum). Giotto's workshop artists will finish the frescoes after his death. It is in this chapel that Giotto represented Dante Alighieri, on the picture on the right. The realism of this face is to be compared with the canonical faces painted by artists at the time when Giotto started his career in Assisi.
Giotto left in heritage a new gothic figuration that the school of Siena will carry on with Simone Martini, Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti.
